튤로 지어진 풀스커트를 비롯해 몰리 고더드의 드레스는 가벼워 보였다. 그러나 무대 위에서 인체소묘수업을 들으며 신중하게 남성의 나체를 그려가는 모델들은 진중해 보였다.

세인트 마틴 스쿨에서 루이스 윌슨 교수가 키운 또 다른 제자인 몰리는 사랑스러우면서 엣지있는 컬렉션을 통해 역사적인 작품들이 새로 태어난 느낌을 안겨주었다. 손으로 잡은 50년대 스모킹 주름과 빈티지 루렉스(Lurex) 알루미늄 사, 그리고 고열세탁으로 핸드 슈렁크 가공을 한 스웨터 등은 마치 동화 속에서 나온 듯한 스커트에 장식적인 효과를 더했다.

몰리 고더드는 이미 도버 스트리트 마켓에서 판매를 시작했다. 그리고 벽에 꽃 사진과 인체소묘들이 핀으로 꽂혀있는 한 예술가의 스튜디오 같은 모습의 무대 덕에 뒤틀린 보헤미안의 느낌이 더욱 강조됐다.

Molly Goddard: Life Class

With their full tulle skirts, Molly Goddard’s dresses were light, but the concentration of the models was intense as they attended a life-drawing class on set and studiously depicted a male nude.

This sweet but edgy collection from Molly – yet another of Louise Wilson’s graduates from Central St Martin’s – had the feeling of historic pieces re-born, so hand-smocking from the Fifties, vintage Lurex and sweaters hand-shrunk in a high-heat washing machine added a decorative touch to the fairytale skirts.

Already retailing in Dover Street Market, the feeling of a twisted Bohemia was enhanced by a set where flower images and life drawings pinned to the wall gave the feeling of an artist’s studio.
